The hansom was lifting along the crowded thoroughfare at a pretty smart pace. Suddenly another cab, coming in the opposite direction ran into it W'ith just sufficient force to lodge the colliding horse's head at • the back of the other horse. An exciting exchange of words was expected, but for a moment there was an interesting silence. 7he driver of the cab that had been run into sat quite still, glaring at the other.
