(Froma Correspondent). The basket social held here on November 30th, “in aid of the cricket club, was a complete success, £27 being taken. The artistic display of baskets reflected great credit on the ladies. The prizes were awarded to Miss Agnes Koay for the best & decorated basket and Misa K. Bunkall for the highest priced basket. The judges—Mrs. Rutland, Mr. Edwards and Mr. Morgan—had great difficulty in awarding the prize for the best decorated basket, having finally to decide by ballot, as two other baskets (Mrs. A. Powell’s and Miss Anna Keay’s) were in their opinion equally entitled to a prize. Competition was very keen for ell the baskets, especially Miss K. BmikaU’s which realised the handsome price of £6. The Y average price of the baskets was 31/-. Mr. W. Vickers very ably carried out the duties of auctioneer, and Mr. T. Vercoe made a very efficient M.C. The cricket club are also greatly indebted to Miss A. Keay, and Messr s. J. Keay and W. Ford, for supplying music, and to Mr. Bunkall for free use of hall and piano.
