Fairburn.
(From our own Correspondent.) Mr. A. Gibb is the latest new'supplier to the creamery. He has a small but choice herd, purchased mainly from Mr. W. Wilkinson, of Oruru.
The examination of the children attending the Fairbum School took place on Thursday last, with the result that, with one exception, the whole of the scholars were passed by the Government Inspector. A meeting convened by Mr. T. C. Coulter has been held in the schoolroom and the details and date of this year’s pic-nic decided upon, Mr. O. Fisher was elected chairman of the meeting and a strong committee was nominated to carrv out the various duties. The date has been jfifW f° r the first Friday after Christmas day (December 28). The usual invitations have been sent out, and the writer has been asked to assure all friends from outside districts of a hearty welcome by the settlers of Fairburn. Mr. R. May has again placed his land at the disposal of the committee, and it has been accepted with thanks,
