A GENERAL SLAUGHTER OF THE CAUCASIAN.
REALISTIC BOOK STARTLES ALL ENGLAND WITH ITS TERRIBLY VIVID PICTURES OF A COMING WAR. * No book written during the lest decade has been so widely discussed here as “The Collapse of the Old World.” Evidently written by a military expert ef unusual ability hiding under the pseudonyme of “Sea Star.” The hook which is full of vivid pictures of a great future war, describes how the Powers of Europe will sacrifice their predominant position in the world, owing to the‘outbreak of. a war fletweon England and Germany, in which France, Spain and Portugal take sides with the former power, while Austria and Italy remain loyal to the Triple Alliance. Germany repeats her military sugcesses of the Franco-Prussian .war of 1870-71, but her navy is wiped out by England’s superior fleets, which, however, suffer dreadfully in doing so.
Finally, Great Britain and Germany are obliged to abandon the struggle owing l to it's disastrous effects in ail parts of the world. The black and yellow races rise all over the earth. All Africa is in a turmoil. The Hottentots, under an Ethiopian missionary, are massacreing and burning from Swakopmund to Bloemfontein, and the English and German inhabitants units against the. common foe. .
The English are driven out of Egypt, and massacres of whites take place at Fez—where the Sultan of Morocco is also murdered—as well as in European Turkey, In China Japan has incited the Chinese against the white population, and ghastly slaughters are reported from the interior.
Japan and the United States of America become two great powers, while Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Austria are reduced to the rank of second-rate powers through the colossal losses which they have sustained in combatting each other and the yellow and black races. The intention of the author is evidently to show that a war between Germany, and England would result in the annihilation of the powers engaged, to the great advantage of the United States, and his reasoning is so clear and his arguments so plausible and striking that the book will undoubtedly prove a mighty factor in wiping out the dangerous bitter feeling now existing between the two countries.
