A Scotch laird plagued by poachers procured a cork leg dressed in a stocking and shoe, and sent it through the neighbouring villages by the town crier, who proclaimed that it had been found in a mantrap on the previous night in Mr. Ross’ grounds, who desired to return it to its owner.
