Fairburn.
(From our Owu Correspondent.) Subscribers to the Fairburn Public Library will be glad to learn that a number [of new books are to be added. There are already some hundreds of volumes, and it will pay those who have not joined to do so at once. The subscription is 3/- per annum. At the last meeting of the OruruFairburn Dairy Company Directorate it transpired that a large profit had been made this season. The exuct amount will be stated in the auditor’s report; meanwhile the shareholders may anticipate Bomething*Bubstantial. It is a pleasant duty to be able to announce the success of our local industry, and there is no reason to assume that it will not be repeated next season. High-grade butter will always fetch a good price. The modern tendency is towards pure food, butter and cheese largely supplanting animal flesh. Taking one thing with another dairying prospects are bright.
Mr. W. Wilkinson and Mr. J. T. Rowe are expiated here shortly for a few days’ shooting. The Rev. W. Scott preached to a fair congregation on Sunday in .the Schoolroom. A complimentary exchange of pulpits will take place next church day. Mr. W. Prosser was the successful tenderer for cream carting. June 12th, 1906.
