“WIRELESS” ON EXPRESS TRAINS.

FIRST SUCCESSFUL EXPERIMENTS IN CANADA. * The Grand Trunk Railway system of Canada claims the distinction of having been the first railway to use the wireless system for the exchange of signals between a moving train and a station. The demonstration was made on the occasion of the for-ty-seventh annual meeting of the American Association of General Passenger and Ticket Agents held at Portland, Maine, in October, 1902. The company ran a special train through from Chicago to Montreal and thence to Portland. One of the principle attractions ottered to their guests by the Grand Trunk was a successful demonstration of wireless telegraphy to a moving train made by Dr. E. Rutherford and Dr. Howard T. Barnes, both of M’Gill University.
