iS&tcal THE GREAT ENGLISH REMEDY FOR GOUT AND RHEUMATISM. BLAIR'S GOUT and RHEUMATIC PILLS. — This preparation is one of the benefits which the science of modern chemistry has conferred upon mankind ; for, during the first twenty years of the present century, to speak of a cure for the Gout was considered a romance ; but now the efficacy and safety of this medicine ia so fully demonstrated, by unsolicited testimonials from persons in every rank of life, that public opinion proclaims this as one of the most important discoveries of the present age. These Pills require no restraint of diet or confinement during their use, and are certain to prevont the disease attacking any vital part. They can be relied upon as the most safe and effectual remedy ever offered the public, and have been universally used in Europe and America for many yearß for tho above oomplaints. Her Majesty's Commissioners have authorized tho name and address of "Thomas Pkout, No. 229, Strand, London," to be impressed upon the Government stamp affixed to each box of tho genuine medicine. Sold in England at Is. Hd., and 2s. 9d. per box, or obtained through any Chemist or Medicine Vendor throvghout the Australian colonies. French, Kempthorne, and Co., Agents, 1103 Dunedin.

(TROUGHS, COLDS, RHEUMATISM, DIARRHCEA, DYSENTERY, and FEVER. The Times, of India, states that " The discovery of DR. J. COLLIS BROWSE'S CHLORODYNE ia a greater blessing to the human race than even the discovery of Vaccination." This remedy is invaluable in tho above diseases, and is indispensable to Emigrants, Travellers, and Families, a few doses being geuorally sufficient. DR. J. COLLIS BROWNE'S CHLORODYNE. The Right Honourable Earl Russell communicated to the College of Physicians, aud J. T. Davenport, that he had received information to the effect that the only remedy of any service in Cholera waa Chlorodyne. — See Lancet, December 31, 1864. DR. J. COLLIS BROWNE'S CHLORODYNE. Eitract from Medical Times, January 12, 1866 :—: — "Is prescribed by scores of orthodox mcdi( al practitioners. Of course it would not be thus singularly popnlnr, did it not 'supply a want and fill a place.' " DR. J. COLLIS BROWNE'S CHLORODYNE ia the best and most certain remedy in COUGHS, COLDS, ASTHMA, CONSUMPTION, NEURALGIA, RHEUMATISM", &c. From A. Montgomery, Esq., late Inspector of Hospitals, Bombay : — " Chlorodyno ia a rooat valuable remedy in Neuralgia, Asthma, and Dysentery. To it I fairly owe ray restoration to health, after eighteen raontW severe suffering, and when all other medicines had failed." It is necessary to warn the public against spurious imitations, which only bear the pirated name, and are deficient of the true properties of the on'y gonuine, viz.— Dß. J. COLLIS BROWNE'S— aa was proved before Vice-Chancellor Sir W. P. Wood, in the Court of Chancery, in case Browne v. fHi£C£llanmts + W. V. WRIGHT AND CO.'S PURE COAL-TAE SOAP, KEG-ISTEEED AS SAPO CARBONIS DETERGENS. This Soap is compounded from our " LIQUOR CARBONIS DETERGENS," which, according to the testimony of tho leading Medical join-nals, is unrivalled for its Detergent and Antiseptic qualities, besides being an almost infallible specific for Indolent Ulcers, Wounds, Sores, and Affections of the Skin generally. All tho active principles of Coal Tar, including that powerful disinfectant, Carbolic Acid, are contained in the " Liquor," and are developed in the Soap in a milder form. W. V. Weight and Co.'s PURE COAL-T^.R SOAP is a material security against infectious diseases of every sort, and moderates the effluvia of house-drains. This effect is produced by the water being thrown into them in which the soap has been used for washing. W. V. Wright akd Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP improves the general condition of the skin, which becomes soft and silky, and, after washing, there is a conscious sensation of a most agreeable and refreshing character. The face assumes a clear and healthy appearance ; there is no liability to chilblains or chapped hands,' and offensive emanations from the person (if there be any) are quickly removed. W. V. Weight and Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP prevents the hair from turning prematurely grey. All ordinary soaps destroy the colour of tho hair more or less ; but the Sapo Carbonis Detergens does not produce this effect, partly because it contains a very small proportion of alkali, and partly .because of the peculiar nature of the alkali, and the special form and combination in which it exists. W. V. Wright and Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP, from the small quantity of alkali which it contains, as well as from the compression to which it is subjected, does not soften or waste in water like other soaps, and will be, therefore, found most economical in use. W. V. Weight and Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP is a specific against tho bite of reptiles, the sting of insects, &c., &c., and is an invaluable article in hot climates. W. V. Weight and Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP is moßt highly spoken of by the Press. The following is from tho Lancet, December 22, 1866 : — " Iv our hands it has been a most effective agent in the case of various skin diseases, especially of the chronic eezematous class ; and one cuse of psoriasis, which had resisted all other kinds of treatment, speedily got well under the application of the liquor carlonis detergens. We esteem it a very valuable addition to our list of skin remedies, and worthy of a very extended trial by the profession. In the abovo classes of disease, and in various others, such as foetid ulcers, &c, the preparation is put into the form of soap. Messrs. W. V. Wright and Co., London, are the manufacturers."
