The quality and condition, however, were inferior, and the greater portion was difficult of sale at from £7 to £9, whilst the small quantity of good hay offered sold readily at from £9 108. to £10 10s. per ton. Flour and Grain.— Flour continues dull of sale. The stocks of old colonial sorts appear to be nearly worked out, and for Adelaide of this description there is still a little demand for working up with new country made. Considerable arrivals fi'o>>i the United States have already reached thia market, and the coming supplies from that quarter being known to be large, and several parcels of new Adelaide being to hand, tend further to depress prices heve, more especially as the arrivals of the latter are of very superior quality. Adelaide rules from £17 to £18 10s. ; Tasmanian (scarce); £18; Chilian, dull,£lß p' ton; United States, 425. nominally, per barrel. Wheat is comiug freely to hand fron South Australia, and as our own harvest is in hand, prices are not so firm as of late, and cannot be quoted at above 7s. 6d. to Bs. per bushel. Oats are less saleable, and prices easier, colonial not being worth above Ga., Scotch 4s. 6d. to 4s. 9d. ; Danish and Calcutta 55., Californian ss. 2d. per bushel. Barley continues very dull ; no Cape or English samples offering, and Californian almost nominal at 4s. per bushel. Bran is also in less demand ; several parcels have been disposed of from the ship, at 2s. per bushel. At the mills there has been a light amount oiily of business during the week, the trade supplying themselves merely to the extent of absolute requirements. Millers continue, however, to quote flour at nominal price? : Fine ad. £19, and seconds ni. £17 per ton ; bran, 25. ; and wheat, 7s. 6d. to Bs. per bushel. THE WOOL MARKET. The wool reports appear to be somewhnt at variance. The London market is stated to be dull, while in the markets of the manufacturing districts prices are spoken of as having rather an upward tendency. The Times of the Ist November gives the subjoined report of the London wool nnd tallow markets :—: — London, Saturday. — Wool. — The wool trade is still devoid of animation. No actual fell has taken place in prices, and both buyers and sellers are waiting the result of the forthcoming public sales.
