The object of this Association ia the erection and maintenance of a suitable building for the purpose of holding large public meetings, for balls, and concerts, and dramatic performances. The inadequacy of the present building, viz., the Odd-Fellows' Hall, for tho purposes before enumerated, becomes more apparent every day ; and the encouragement the projectors of this undertaking have already met with, warrants them iv appealing to the public in a more formal manner by thus issuing thi3 prospectus. The committee have had plans and estimates made of the proposed building ; they have also had several offera of sites for the erection of the building, and the committee have conditionally made arrangements with one gentleman for the purchase of a most suitable piece of land, the owner agreeiug to take the whole of the price af the land in shares. The committee may also state that applications for shares have already bsen received to the amount of about £800, and they confidently look to the publio to subscribe the remaining £700, and so assist the committee in carrying out so desirable an undertaking. The committee, in whom the building and property will be vested, will lease the building from the shareholders at a rent which will guarantee interest on the capital subscribed, at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum ; interest to commence from the day deposits are fully paid up. [ When the amount of capital shall, in the judgment of the committee, be sufficient to justify them in commencing operations, they will at once proceed to take tho necessary measures for that purpose. Applications for shares will bo received by Mr. W. M. Stantos, Trafalgar-itreet," or by any of the Committee. June Ist, 1858. 103.3
