A GENTLEMAN, in search of a Sheeprun, X-L, being of opinion that there are great quantities of available PASTURE LAND on the WEST COAST of this Island, is desirous of meeting with Five or Six other persons who would form an EXPLORING EXPEDITION to that Coast. The attendant expenses would bo small compared with the great results that must inevitably arise lrom such an expedition, besides the pleasantness of the trip. A suitable BOAT is being built under the superin1 tendence of the above gentleman, who, having been to aea for many years, understands boating thoroughly. The Expedition will start in the beginning of December. The Government have been requested to reimburse any outlay, should any beneficial roaulto be obtained, and have partially agreed to do so. P., Wakatu Hotel. nnilE COMMISSIONERS appointed JL under the Compensation Act of the Provincial I Council of Session I V., No. 1, to inquire into and | report upon the claims of persons resident m the i Province of Nelson for Compensation for Losses and Damaged sustained by them in respect of the nonfulfilment of its contracts by the New Zealand Company, Hereby give Notice, that they are now prepared to receive the claims aforesaid ; and that, in accordance with clause 4> of tho Act above mentioned, no claims will ba entertained by the Commissioners unless the same shall be sent into them, at the Office of Air. KINGDON, Trafalgar-street, Nelsok, within Six Calendar Months from the date of the publication of this Notice, that is to say, on or before the TWENTIETH DAY OF APRIL, 1858. The widow or child of aiiy person deceased, who ! would have been entitled to compensation under the | Act may send in a claim in respect of such deceased person.
