Meeting at Richmond.— An adjourned meeting was held at the Schoolroom at Richmond, on Monday evening last, for the purpose of considering the proposed loan for the purposes of education. As we intend to report the proceedings, in extenso, on Saturday next, we shall content ourselves on the present occasion with stating that the meeting was crowded and orderly, and that, of two resolutions submitted to its consideration, one was withdrawn, and the following one was carried by a very large majority : — That in the opinion of this meeting, the present Government system of education within this province requires considerable amendment, and that it is unwise at present to burden the revenue with any loan for educational purposes, so long as a large fund for educational purposes is already iv the hands of the province.
