The arrival of tbe Alexander, yesterday, from Melbourne, with the important news from the seat of war, has compelled us to omit the proceedings in Council, and other local matters, to famish our readers with the latest and moat gloripas news. The Alexander has brought about fifty emigrants from Melbourne, and the Marchioness may be expected in about a week, with more.
