Horses to be named within a quarter of an hour after the last heat for the Scurry Stakes, and to be handicapped by the Stewards or whom they may appoint. Once round and a distance. The FORCED HANDICAP of 10 Soys., h. ft., for the winner of any races except the Port and Selling Stake*, and Consolation Plate ; open to any other horse ; second horse to save hisatske. Horses to be named at the same time as for the Consolation Plate, and to be handicapped in the same manner. Once round and a distance. No person not a subscriber of two guineas to the fund will be allowed to enter a horse for any race except the Wairau Plate and Hack Stakes, nor for the latter races unless a subscriber to the amount of ten shillings. The prizes will be paid by the Treasurer on the Monday following the races, at tne Wakatu Hotel, at eleven o'clock. All horses (except for the Wairau Plate, Hack St kes, Consolation Plate, and Forced Handicap) to be named, and colours of the riders declared, under a sealed cover to tbe Secretary of the Turf Club, at his residence, on or before six O'clock on the evening of Thursday, the Ist of March. Horses for tbe Hack Stakes, Wairau Plare, Consolation Kate, and Forced Handicap, to be entered on the ground. No other post entries allowed. No public money will be added to the sweepstakes by tbe ■teWards unless two horses, the bonafide property of separate person*, do start. A bell will ring for saddling and another for starting ; not more tbsn five minutes allowed after the last bell, when th* horses at the post will be started. Horses to be at the post for tbe Maiden Plate, Welter Plate, and Turf Club Plate, at twelve o'clock on each day. The rules of the Nelson Turf Club will be strictly enforced.
