SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE.
* ARRIVED. December 21, schooner Sarah Jane, 30, Swan, from Wellington ; general cargo. SAILED. December 24, schooner Sarah Jane, 30, Swan, for Wellington. * 25th, brig Nelson, 153, Sedgwick, for Wellington. •x port. Cutter Ann and Sarah, 25, Sinclair. A vessel was signalized in the Bay on Wednesday morning, but was lost sight of early in the afternoon. The Shamrock, from Wellington to Sydney, was expected to call here in the middle cf the week if she found the wind favourable to come down the Bay. The vessel seen on Wednesday had the wind dead against her, and she is therefore likely to have been the Shamrock, and to have proceeded on her voyage. The master of the Sarah Jane reported having seen on Saturday last a large vessel with open ports pass the mouth of the Bay and proceed down . the Straits. The general opinion is that it must have been a vessel of war which has come round the west coast from Auckland, bound to Wellington, and having in all probability the Governor on board.
