LONDO N WOOL MARKET.

■" The series ofaales of colonial and other wools,* >hi(ih' commAced u on the ' 13th May, were to a tamination on. Wednesday last. Wfe Biav'e muh pleasure in observing that the recent importabns have been of fair condition and quality, 'lie progressive improvements in the wools, excel those of South Australia, is most marked. (U the commencement of these sales, the quatity declared did not exceed 7.Q00 bales, andthe buyers were not prepared for a great additpn to the quantity ; but, not' withstanding fuiher arrivals of 8,000 bales, the ' whole found burrs at prices equal to the best sales of last seasn. Many of the finer flocks sold at apparenf advance; but we think the superior growth jnd condition of the wool this season in a greatmeasure compensated for the improved prices.] There' was no great weight of combing wool in these sales; and although the prices paid wre no doubt satisfactory to the importers, it wa evident that' the Bradford trade holds out rt» great encouragement to expect the powerfu support, this season, which the colonial wool kales have frequently derived from that town. 1 We regretted wry much to observe several flocks from Van piemen's Land deteriorated Id. to 2d. perlb.,jn consequence of the locks and skirting beinguacked with the fleeces. Skin and lamb wool mantained about former prices. The wool from Southern Africa embraced various qualities; nd many buyers considered they were purchase! on rather more favourable terms than other cdonial wool. The East Indian Wools were of the usual descriptions; that potion of them which were hempy scarcely realfced former prices. The following is I correct statement of the prices realized according to qualities : — Australian. — Fairind superior combing, from Is. Bd. to 2s. 2d. ; siperior clothing from 2s. to 2s, 6d. ; a few lots, fy.
