J NELSON FLOUR MILL COMPANY. AT a meeting of the inhabitants of Nelson, convened for the purpose of considering the necessity of erecting a FLOUR MILL in this settlement, and held in the Court House on Tuesday the 7th of May, the following RESOLUTIONS were pissed :— 1. Proposed by Mr, Georoc Dovfa, and seconded by Mr. John Kerr— That it is expedient that a flour mill be erected in the settlement as soon as possible. 2. Proposed by Mr. Sclandibs, and seconded by Mr. J. S. Tytler — That, for carrying the above object into execution , a company be formed, to he called the Nelson Flour Mill Company. 3? Proposed by the Hon. C. A, Dillon, and seconded by Mr. W. Shefheud— lt is estimated that jtfSOO will be amply sufficient to form the capital of the company, to be divided in *65 shares. 4. Proposed by Mr. J. Saxton, and seconded by Mr. J. Poyntbr— That parties who take shares shall be required to pay a deposit of £1 per share into the Union Bank of Australia, Nelson, for which a receipt will be given, and, provided the object is not carried into effect, the money to be returned on production of the receipt. 6. Proposed by Mr. W. Cactlet, and seconded by Mr. S. Stxfhens — That those personmow present who are desirous to take shares, do put their names down for the number they intend taking. 5. Proposed by Mr. F. Omasoir, and seconded by the Hon. C. A. Dillon — Thatacommitteee of the following shareholders be appointed to form the rules of the company, and that they db report to a general meeting of shareholders this day fortnight. Messrs. Poynter, Ottenon, Sclanders, Fox, and Duppa. 7- Proposed by Mr. W. Fox, and seconded by Mr. Bddgb — That a committee of the following shareholders be appointed to inquire into an eligible site for the erection of a wind or water mill, to get estimates of the different expenses and other necessary arrangements, and that they do report to a general meeting of- shareholders this day fortnight. Messrs. J. Tytler, Fell, Stevens; Dillon, Cautlev, and Budge. 8. Proposed by the Bon. C. A. Dillon, and seconded by Mr. Otterson— That the foregoing resolutions be published in the Nelson Examiner for the next two weeks; and that parties defoous of taking sharei will obtain the same by paying a deposit of £1 per share to the credit of the company, at the Union Bank of Australia. m^ A. The educational course includes Latin, French, English, Mathematics, &c, and all on the most reasonable terms. He has likewise an evening class for adults, from seven till nine.
