GARDENEERS' CALENDAR.

AuGcj*—Tin«A sh&ttjd t&prun^d eafy in>shir month, f^Jf.le£|^til vegetation h*<i c£injpen6edj bleeding^wll not -easily bVpjeveijted, wnicß,if it take place to any extent, will not fail niaferially to injure the ensuing crop. Failing to prune at this time, it had better be delayed until an advanced period in the autumn. Plant beans early this month, the sooner the better; in this and in all other cases connected with planting and sowing, the exact time must be regulated by the state of the weather and the nature of the soil. In light sandy soils, sowing and planting-should be -done as early as possible ; and in wet strong soils, the seeds are better in the seed-room than in the ground, when it is not in a proper state to receive them ; the quantity sown should be according to the demand. Beans planted once, will 'remain in the ground and produce good crops, by cutting them over and top dressing them - with manure ; they will bear fruit two or three years* - Bow cabbage, cauliflower, savoy, and German greens. ■ -■ • ~ Plant out cabbage, cauliflower, and savoys, as soon as they are in a strong state.' ■ . Sow, early peas in the middle of this month., and continue successive cropping. Continue sowing salads where they are wanted for the table. — New Zealand Gazette.
