DOMESTIC INTELLIGENCE.
PORT NICHOLSON. The barque Birraan, 545 tons, Captain John Cleland, from London via the Cape of Good Hope, had arrived with 234 immigrants and merchandise for Port Nicholson; James MothenveU, Esq., surgeon-superintendant. Shu had left the ftmandra at the Cape of Goo. I Hope, full of cabin passengers for New Plymouth. The aggregate tonnage now in Port; Nicholson (March 2) is 3,240 tons. The New Zealand GazttU of the 2d March contains a very sensible paragraph, warning all persons against the use of thatch roofs, having given more than one instance of the danger attending the employment of such inflammable material. AUCKLAND. The Land Chums Bill had excited the greatest possible indignation here, which was expressed somewhat grandiloquently- at a public meeting, held at Wood's Royal Hotel, on the 3d of February. We propose to notice this subject at more length in our next. LIST OF SHIPS WHrCH HAVE ENTERED NELSON HAVEN. • • *2 Ship. gft Master* .6 .„. - Name. £ g Name.
