IMMIGRATION INTO U.S.A.
Washington, Dec. 22. President Truman has directed resumption of normal immigration quotas, whereby European refugees will be permanently admitted to the United States at a rate of approximately 39,000 a year. He declared it is an opportunity for America to set an example to the world in co-operation for alleviating human misery. He hoped most of the immigrants would be orphaned children.
