Forecast to 5 p.m Sunday: Northerly winds predominating, strong at times; weather dull with intermittent rain, with the possibility of some heavy falls; misty in places. Temperatures moderate. Further outlook. Improving. After a further week of fine weather, unsettled conditions, as predicted, developed last night, and light rain fell this morning, when there was a north-easterly breeze. The rain will be welcomed by the farming community and gardeners, as the recent hot days and south-westerly winds dried up the ground after its good soaking last week. The sunshine recorder worked for 11 hours 36 minutes yesterday, when the maximum shade temperature was 78.6 degrees.
