VJ-DAY PARADE IN BERLIN

TROOPS OF FOUR POWERS Berlin, Sept. 7. Marshal Zhukov took the salute from the troops of the four Allies at the Tiergarten in an official VJ parade. It is the first parade in which all four occupying Powers have participated. Marshal Zhukov, who was resplendent in a blue uniform with three rows of medals, was flanked by Britain’s Lieut. General Robertson, America’s General Patton and France's General Koeltz. The parade was led by Soviet Guards battalions which captured Hitler’s chancellery. Units of the Queen’s Durham's marched between the Russians and Am ericans. Fifty armoured vehicles of each nation followed, including the British 25-ton Comet tanks and the Russians’ 65-tonners.
