WAGES ON DAIRY FARMS

NEW MINIMUM RATES FIXED

A new Agricultural Workers’ Wagefixation Order, in force from Ist August, 1945, has been gazetted. Tho minimum rates of wages payable under the order to agricultural workers employed on dairy-farms, range from £1 15s for workers under 17 years, to £2 5s at the age of 17 years, £2 15s at 18, £3 5s at 19, £3 15s at 20, and £4 5s at 21 and over. In the case of workers who are not provided with £oard and lodging by their employers the rates are to be increased by £ 1 a week.
