BLOCKADE OF JAPAN GUAM, Aug. 3. —Super-Fortresses have established a complete shipping blockade in the Japanese home islands, 'said a spokesman for the Twentieth, Air Force. Every important harbour, throughout Japan was virtually closed. Korean waters had also been mined by ouper-Fortresses. Hundreds of thousands 'of tons of shipping had beed destroyed by mines in the past four riiontlis. Shipping in ‘the Inland Sea had been almost completely neutralised. Thus for the first time air power had carried the brunt of strategic blocks,-.e against a maritime nation Japan’s teeming millions are receiving tyess than half the food and raw materials needed.
