EX-SERVICEMEN PROTEST
AUSTRALIAN EMPLOYMRNT BILL Sydney, June 27. A conference of the New South Wales’ Ex-Servicemen’s Associations has decided to set up State-wide machinery to conduct a long-term protest campaign against the provisions of the Re-Establishment and Employment Bill. Ten associations, with an aggregate financial membership of more than 150,000, were represented at the conference, which will assemble welu.ly to draft the ReEstablishment Bill into a form more acceptable to ex- servicemen, Similar conferences will be held in other States and Parliament will be subjected to a continued policy of pressure until next year’s Federal elections.
The New South- Wales conference wishes preference for all ex-service-men, whether or not they servut outside Australia. Civilian groups, it was agreed, should have no part of the benefits of the Bill.
