NELSON BRIDEGROOM
SEQUEL TO A “PEN FRIENDSHIP” London, May 11. The wedding took place on sth May, at the Presbyterian Church, Palmers Green, London N., of L/Ac. Wallace Crichton Brown, R.N.Z.A.F. (Nelson), to Marie Eileen Eddowes, daughter of Mr and Mrs F. E. Eddowes, of Palmers Green. The officiating clergyman, the Rev. John Huxtable, was assisted by the Rev. D. Connor, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaid was Miss Christine Sullivan. Wing Commander C. H. Baigent, D.F.C. and Bar, Officer Commanding 75 (N.Z.) Squadron (Taupo), v/as best man. The guests included Mr W. J. Jordan, High Commissioner, Squadron Leader and Mrs B. H. Beale, and Flight Lieutenant E. W. A. Drake, Mr G. G. Miller, of the West India Council, and Mrs Miller, were among the many friends and relatives of the bride. The marriage was the outcome of a pen friendship, which developed while L/Ac. Brown was a prisoner of war in Germany. He had been captured in the early days of the war when the Rangitane was sunk.
