“ARSENIC AND OLD LACE”

NEXT REPERTORY PRODUCTION The committee of the Nelson Repertory Theatre announces the approaching production of the brilliant and hilarious farce-comedy “Arsenic and Old Lace,” which will be staged at the Theatre for four nights commencing on Saturday week. 23rd June. The four packed houses last Easter testify to the popularity of stage productions in Nelson, and theatre-goers are assbred of another repertory play that promises to eclipse previous records. “Arsenic and Old Lace,” which has now been running for nearly three years in London, has been called one of the stage’s most “obstinate” successes. New York described it as Broadway’s greatest comedy hit in years. In England alone, over two million people have seen it. The producer in Nelson is Mr Friday Easther, and the cast, which contains a number of both experienced and talented players, is expected to give performances of a high standard. The box plan will open at Begg’s on Friday. As half the total number of seats for the four performances Of the last play were booked on the opening day, intending patrons are advised to book early. Every seat in the theatre is reservable.
