CHINESE REACH LIUCHOW

FALL OF CITY IMMINENT Chungking, June 8. The High Command announced that the Chinese, in bitter fighting, have reached Liuchow’s northern suburbs. The Associated Press of America correspondent says an unconfirmed report o fthe capture on 6th June has been proved premature, but the announcement indicates that the city’s fall is imminent, though it is reported to be still strongly garrisoned and fortified.
