REPORT TO THE NATION To-night at 7 o’clrc the main national and commercial broadcasting stations and Station 2YN will be linked in a radio-telephone hook-up. The chairmen of the twenty districts throughout the Dominion will report on the progress of the Loan to the National Council. As in the past this round-New Zealand tour will command wide interest. Over £5700 in Bonds Mr H. C. Robertson, ol Gibbs’ Motors Ltd., has now sold over £5700 worth of Bonds. “This achievement is a great credit to Mr Robertson,” said a committeeman this morning. Sports body subscribers to National Savings: Nelson Swimming Centre and Nelson Competitions Society. Challenge Taken lip “I want to make the offer binding upon the Nelson challenger and at the same time spur Wakefield people on to a better effort in the Loan.” said Mr Albert Gibbs in advising a Wakefield committeeman of his willingness to be the third to invest £SOO. “Good work on Mr Gibbs’s part,” commented the district chairman (Mr C. Milner), when he heard the news, “and now we look for the response both from the Nelson business firm and Wakefield residents." “Sit and Think:” A correspondent, “A Briton” (Nelson) writes to say that we should all invest in the Victory Loan in gratitude for what our fighting men have done for each one of us. She considers it degrading that so many appeals should have to be launched before people will lend their money for what is really their own protection. -“We can do our part if each one of us will sit quietly and think for a few minutes what our men and women who have gone overseas hav, done for us and for the love of thu country,” she adds.
