PORTABLE ELECTRIC TOTALISATOR

HAWKES BAY PROPOSAL Hastings, June 7. The acquisition of a portable electric totalisator together with a special truck and equipment for transport, was considered at a conference of representatives of all racing hunt clubs in the Hawkes Bay Metropolitan Racing District held in Hastings. The proposal under consideration is the formation of a company composed of the clubs which will purchase the machine and hire it to members of the company on a nonprofit basis. At a subsequent meeting of the Hawkes Bay Jockey Club committee the proposal was approved and it was agreed that the club offer to become, a member of the proposed company.—P.A.
