FAIR TO FINE Wellington, This Day. Situation: An anti-cyclone is centred near Lord Howe Island and a depression is moving into the south Tasman Sea from Tasmania. Forecast to 5 p.m. Wednesday: Light to moderate u r inds from a westerly quarter, weather fair to fine, frosts to-night ut moderating day temperatures. Further outlook: Period of rain likely on Thursday morning. A frost of 3.3 degrees was recorded in Nelson last night, being followed this morning by clear skies and bright sunshine which soon melted the light sprinkling of white covering many lawns and gardens in the city. Yesterday’s bright sunshine totalled 6 hours 54 minutes. There vas quite a heavy fall of snow at Lake Rotoiti yesterday when there were two inches on the ground at lake level.
