TAKAKA TOWN BOARD

RIVEB PROTECTION WORK The following were present at the monthly meeting of the Takaka Town Board: Messrs N. Bensemann (chairman), K. Page, and L. C. McKinnon. Full support was accorded the Golden Bay Power Board’s request for co-ope-ration in its campaign for the erection of State houses. It was resolved to approach the Minister of Rehabilitation and the Member for Motueka. The clerk of the Nelson Catchment Board advised that authority had been given ihe P.W.D. to proceed with the necessary river protection works at Takaka. as quickly as possible. The board decided that the footpath along Willow street should be reformed. The matter of cleaning up and planting in shrubs the section adjoining the war memorial offered by Mr K. Page to the board, was left over for consideration at the next meeting.
