MOTUEKA RUGBY FOOTBALL
UNITED CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the United Football Club was held in Calder’s buildings, Motueka, where the president, Mr T. Hickmott, presided over an attendance of 25 members. The reports of the secretary and treasurer were read and adopted, the statement of accounts disclosing that finance in hand amounted to £2O. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: Patron, Mr E. S. Wratt; president, Mr T. Hickmott; vicepresidents, Messrs E. Redmond, C. Kinzett, L. Carruthers, H. Whitwell, H. Rangi, G. Hodge, G. Talbot, F. Quested. W. Robinson, L. Wratt, E. Bradley, J. Fraser, C. James and J. Grieves: secretary, Mr L. Coppins: treasurer, Mr C. Coppins; delegates, Messrs L. Carruthers and T. Hickmott; auditor, Mr L. Glover: club’ captain, Mr T. Hurley; selectors, Messrs C. Kinzett, E. Bradley and E. Redmond; coaches, Messrs E. Bradley (senior) and C. Kinzett (jurtior); social committee, Messrs W. Ryan, E. Bradley, T. Hurley, L. Coppins and A. Inwood; custodian of equipment, Mr C. Coppins. Mr E. Bradley reported that the floodlights at Rugby Park were very unsatisfactory and, on the motion of Mr E. Redmond, the secretary was instructed to get in touch with the Waimea Power Board and have the lights adjusted. The secretary was asked to forward a donation of £1 Is to the St. John Ambulance in gratitude for services rendered on the playing fields. A welcome was extended to Messrs A. Wratt and K. Masters, who had rejoined the club after serving overseas. A senior and a junior team were entered in the competitions.
