IF TROOPS MEET HITLER
AMERICANS KNOW WHAT TO DO < Washington, April 19 J "If American troops meet Hitler he will be taken and held for action b.y a higher authority unless he resists/’ said the Secretary of War, Mr Stiroson, at a Press conference. Mr Stimson had been asked if fjc>ldiers had been instructed what to, do if they discovered Hitler—whether to take him or “stick” him. Mr Stimson replied, “You may be sure that American troops will do their full duty if such circumstances arise - ;.” Mr Stimson said that the battle for the Rhine crossings cost the United States 47,023 casualties. The aggregate of army and navy casual ti-es was now 912,478.
