MAURICE CLAIR CONCERT IN AID OF RED CROSS Maurice Clair. New Zealand’s leading violinist, will give a concert in Nelson on the 28th of this month. This concert will be the second in the series arranged by the Nelson branch of the New Zealand Federation of University Women, which aims to provide opportunities for the music-loving public of Nelson to see and hear the best of the Dominion’s musical talent at very moderate charges. The previous concert arranged by the local branch of 1 the Federation was given by Miss Eva Christeller, violinist, Miss Vera Martin, contralto, and Mrs Thelma Robinson, pianist, and was a very popular musical treat. Mr Maurice Clair, who was invited to the Dominion at the time of the Centenary and has remained here since, gives frequent broadcast concerts and his artistry on the violin is well-known and widely acclaimed. All profits from his concert in Nelson will be donated to the Red Cross All Purposes Fund.
