HOSPITAL MEDICAL STAFF
CHAIRMAN’S NOTICE OF MOTION
A motion, which if carried will have the effect of opening the Nelson Public Hospital to a certain degree to local medical practitioners, will come before next Wednesday’s meeting of the Nelson Hospital Board. The chairman, Dr. D. C. Low, has given notice of his intention to move the following motion: “That the Nelson Hospital Board adopts for its medical staffing at the hospital the following officers: <a> A Resident Surgeon who shall also be in sole charge of the institution: <2) a Resident Medical Officer who shall be in sole charge of the medical ward and patients, and who shall establish out-patients’ clinics in various branches of medicine: (c) such house surgeons as shall be deemed necessary; <d) that the services of medical practitioners in the city be utilised on a part-time basis, particularly in regard to assistance in surgery; (e) that this proposal be put into practice as soon as the board desires.”
