HONOURING MEMORY OF THE LATE PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT TWO MINUTES’ SILENCE QN MONDAY In accoi’dance with a Dominionwide arrangement the memory of the late President Roosevelt will be honoured in Nelson by the observance of a two minutes’ silence at 11 o’clock on Monday morning. The Mayor, Mr E. R. Neale, has asked local factory owners to sound their whistles just before 11 o’clock in order to give a warning of the approach of the two minutes’ silence. He invites members of the City Council and other local bodies in the city and the public to assemble at the Church Steps for the observance. Thanksgiving for the life of Franklin Roosevelt. will be offered at the services at Jthe Nelson Cathedral and the other churches in Nelson tomorrow.
