ROYAL VISIT TO A.T.S. CENTRE

PRINCESS AT WORK London. April 10. When the King and Queen visited an A.T.S. motor training centre in southern England they watched girls at work One of them training on a camouflaged army lorry looked up and smiled. She was Princess Elizabeth doing part of her ordinary training as a second subaltern. The Princess, with hands greasy with oil, stood in khaki overalls and chatted with Their Majesties and sister Margaret Rose, who accompanied them cn the surprise visit. The King joked with the Princess about her work. The Royal party after watching other teams of girls at work returned to their daughter. The King asked the Princess, “Haven’t you got it mended yet?” When the lorry started up the silencer wobbled badly and the King commenter, “You must have left something out.”
