Temp.-Brigadier J. M. Mitchell. D. 5.0., is now commandant of the New Zealand troops in Maadi Camp. He succeeds Brigadier W. G. Gentry. D. 5.0.. who has been appointed to command an infantry brigade.
Mr and Mrs George Cotton. Bridge street, have received word from their son Athol that he is fit and well.
Reference to Mr L. E. H. Baigent’s work as president over a period of eight years was made at. the annual meeting of the Nelson Chamber of Commerce last night and appreciation of his services was recorded. Mr G. R. McKellar is the new president.
