CRIPPLED CHILDREN SOCIETY APPEAL
I To the Editor] Sir.—Once again we seek your valued help in providing a little space in which to tell our many friends in Nelson, that to-morrow'on the streets of the City, we are making our annual appeal for financial assistance. Year after year, we go on with the work of helping the unfortunate disabled child in every possible way; medical, surgical and hospital care is provided by the State, but we see that he gets it at the proper time, also specialist attention when needed. Transport to and from hospital or school, special instruction such as vocational training, shorthand, typing, etc., provision of tools of trade, boots, splints, chairs and other needed equipment and anything else that will make the lot of the cripple happier and better. Ail these things we do, knowing full well that the money will be forthcoming. To balance our budget this year, we require £l4O to-morrow, and we appeal with confidence to the people of Nelson to Supply it. If by any chance intending supporters cannot be in town to-morrow, they are requested to send their donation to Mrs Hudson, F. and D. Edwards Ltd. Buildings, or to McKay’s, in Bridge street.
Annual membership is ss, or life membership £5 5s. —I am, etc.,
W. A. ARMSTRONG. President, Nelson Branch. Nelson, 11th April.
