MUNCIPAL BOYS’ BAND

SUCCESSFUL DANCE AT MOTUEKA A very enjoyable dance, organised by the Motueka Municipal Boys’ Band committee was held in the Institute Hall. Swing and spirited music was supplied by the Pam Pam Dance Band, extras being played by Miss M. Snow. Mr Theo Simpson carried out the duties of M.C. During the evening Miss Jessie Luketina contributed vocal solos which were well received. A keen team of workers. Mesdames Drummond, Congdon, Rosenberg and Mr Rosenberg, were responsible for the supper arrangements. Miss V. Suckling and Pte G. Philps were the winners of the Monte Carlo and Miss R. Bailey and Mr N. Young the Lucky Spot. Thanks were extended to Messrs H. Saunders, F. South, H. Hart and the citizens' committee for assistance. Proceeds amounted to approximately £l3. At the last public appearance of the band the sum of £6 7s Od was collected and in connection with this entertainment that committee is grateful to Mr Fred Hall. Protection Means Just This!
