MANY TOWNS LIBERATED
U.S. TROOPS IN PHILIPPINES Washington, April 8. General MacArthur’s communique says: “Many towns and villages in the Bicol Peninsula, Luzon, the Philippines, have been liberated. We have now captured all the seven major enemy airfields on Negros Island. On Cebu Island our troops have continued the systematic destruction of enemy prepared positibns. "Targets at Formosa, and Hong Kong were bombed, damage being caused.”
