WEATHER FORECAST
SLOWLY IMPROVING Wellington, This Day. Situation: A depression is moving slowly over New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. Saturday: Moderate north to north-west winds freshening in exposed positions. Weather dull with rain at first but .mproving slowly. Temperatures becoming cooler. Further outlook: Few isolated showers in the ranges but elsewhere fair. Unseasonably warm, moist weather is being experienced in Nelson, with exceptionally high night temperatures. Yesterday’s rainfall was the heaviest for several weeks, amounting to 95 points up to 9.30 o’clock this morning. The total for the month to date is 1.40 inches. The maximum temperature yesterday was 65.3 degrees, and last night, when the heaviest showers fell, the temperature did not fall below 58.5 degrees. To-day was overcast, misty and hot, with the sun breaking through at intervals.
