N.Z. JOCKEYS CONDEMNED
VIEWS OF AUSTRALIAN Sydney. Feb. 22. The “Daily Telegraph” to-day in its sporting column, under the name of Cliff Graves, publishes a paragraph stating that Sol Green, whom he describes as having been a bookmaker, breeder, owner and punter on the Australian turf for 50 years, condemned New Zealand jockeys after a recent visit. “I have never seen a worse lot of riders, and would not like to back their mounts against Australians,” he said. “Apparently the boom in New Zealand bloodstock has ended, too, for I saw few horses that could win a Mel bourne suburban ri.ee with eight stone,” he added.
