OPERATIONS IN BURMA

PATROL ACTIVITY (Rec. 10.50 a.m.) Rugby, Sept. 27. The Japanese have broken contact with the fifth Indian Division moving south out of the Tiddim Road area, says a South-East Asia communique. Patrolling continues in the Arakan area of north Burma. British patrols operating in a railway valley south of Hopin today probed into the Damma area. Chinese troops south of Kazu in the Mytikyina area continued patrolling to the south. There was air activity by our air force throughout Burma.
