Mr F. H. Bass. Wellington, president of the N.Z. Society of Accountants, last evening addressed the Nelson branch of the Society. He left for Blenheim to-day.

Mr A. M. Gascoigne, the first old pupil of Marlborough College to hold the position, was this week elected chairman of the Board of Governors.

Mr V. Hooper, who for the past 14 years has been on the staff of W. McKay and Son Ltd., has resigned his position and will shortly be entering business on his own account in Nelson.
