VISITS OF CHINESE NATIONALS FACILITATED IN CANADA

Ottawa, May 19. The movement of Chinese who wish to rone to Carsda for a temporary visit is facilitated by Order in Council. Henceforth. Chinese in transit will come under the ordinary provisions of (he Immigration Act. The Order in Council provides further that no person shall be denied entry to Canada for a temporary visit, at a port of entrv. on the ground only that he is of Chinese origin or descent or that he is applying at a port other than one designated in the Chinese Immigration Act. The Order in Council does not affect the provision? governing the entry of Chinese into Canada for permanent residence. These are left for settlement in treaty negotiations between Canada and China.
