PROVINCIAL FARMERS’ FEDERATION
COMMITTEE APPOINTED FRAMING OF CONSTITUTION The meeting of representatives of primary production organisations in the Nelson province continued yesterday afternoon in the Institute rooms. It had earlier been decided that a federation be formed of all primary producers’ bodies and it was resolved that a provisional committee be set. up at the meeting to frame a constitution and establish the federation. It was decided that there be one representative from each industry on the committee, the following being appointed: Messrs L. B. Robinson (fruit industry). W. D. Dron (Farmers’ Union). F. A. Hamilton (tobacco industry). S. O’Hara (hop industry). A. E. Brough (vegetable growers). D. I. Llewellin (small fruit industry). G. I- Mead (dairy industry). R. C. T. Raine (sheepgrowers), D. Max (grain growlers). It was also decided that the New Zealand Farmers’ Federation be asked to supply a copy of its constitution and also to appoint a representative to be associated with the provincial council.
