NEWSPRINT RATIONING EASED
Sydney, May 24. A further relaxation of Australian newsprint rationing for daily, Sunday and weekly newspapers was announced to-day by the Minister of Customs, Senator Keane. From Ist June, newspapers can consume newsprint equal to their allocation for the quarter ended 30th September, 1943, plus 224 per cent. From Ist April, an increase of 12 per cent, was made in the quantity of newsprint allocated to newspapers.
