Reference to the assistance received from the Carnegie Corporation of New York was made in the annual report of the New Zealand Library Association presented at the annual general meeting of the association in Wellington. The report also covered such matters as post war library development, free library service, and the Army Education and Welfare Service Library. The conference which was to be held this year was cancelled, but the council decided to hold the 1945 conference in Wanganui
